Barclaycard Freedom Enables House of Fraser Customers to Earn Rewards

NORTHAMPTON, England, Dec. 14, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Barclaycard Freedom has announced that shoppers at House of Fraser can now earn Reward Money on purchases made at the department store.*

House of Fraser is the latest household name to join over 20,000 retailers nationwide in one of the broadest customer reward schemes in the UK. Its customers will be able to earn 1% Reward Money with Barclaycard - just in time to cash in on Christmas shopping plus take advantage of any in store promotions.

Reward Money can be earned at over 20,000 retail outlets across the UK, including big name retailers and brands such as Goldsmiths, Mappin & Webb, Watches of Switzerland, Shell, LA fitness and PizzaExpress, as well as many smaller retailers.

Barclaycard customers making a purchase in most participating retailers will see their current Reward Money balance appear on the card machine before they enter their PIN to pay. They can then choose to redeem some or all of that balance on the spot, or continue to save up toward a future purchase.

Eligible Barclaycard holders will be rewarded for simply using their reward card to make a purchase, with no need to register or receive a new card. Cardholders can search for participating retailers online at barclaycardfreedom.co.uk, or they can text 'Freedom' to 67777 to access a list of retailers and offers whilst on the move. Cardholders can view their Reward Money account by logging onto mybarclaycard. This will display their current credit card reward balance, list transactions where Reward Money has been earned or redeemed, and display relevant offers.

Notes to editors:

* Until 2011 customers will only be able to earn Reward Money at House of Fraser stores across the UK. As soon as the technology is upgraded customers will be able to spend Reward Money in store.
