Baume & Mercier To Unveil Capeland Shelby® Cobra 1963 "Tribute Edition" Timepiece And The Racecar That Inspired It At The Couture Show 2016
LAS VEGAS, June 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The next chapter of the successful Baume & Mercier and Carroll Shelby International Inc. partnership will unfold tonight at a VIP cocktail party to celebrate the Capeland Shelby Cobra 1963 timepieces, introduced earlier this year. Select retailers, press and friends of the brand will get an exclusive first look at the Capeland Shelby Cobra 1963 "Tribute Edition" watch and its inspiration, the Shelby Cobra 289 "Tribute Edition" racecar- whose design is based on one of the most iconic Cobra racecars in history.
Baume & Mercier Global CEO, Alain Zimmerman and President of Baume & Mercier North America, Fred Martel, will host the event to honor the partnership and recognize legendary Shelby Cobra driver, Allen Grant, who will be in attendance. The event will be held at Baume & Mercier's Couture Show space in the Encore at the Wynn Las Vegas.
The Capeland Shelby Cobra 1963 "Tribute Edition" chronograph will be offered exclusively to buyers of the Shelby Cobra 289 "Tribute Edition" racecar. Only fifteen watches and fifteen cars will be produced to pay homage to the original racecar, CSX2128, which bared racing No.15. Each of the fifteen "Tribute Edition" chronographs will feature the chassis number of the car engraved on the case back.
