Beacon Health Options Names Former HHS Region 1 Director as Senior Vice President, New England Region

BOSTON, Feb. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Beacon Health Options, a health improvement company specializing in mental and emotional wellbeing and recovery, today announced that Christie Hager has joined the company as Senior Vice President, New England Region.

Ms. Hager joins Beacon Health Options from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where she served as the Region 1 (New England) Director. Ms. Hager ensured the successful delivery and enhancement of health and human services across New England, and worked closely with federal, state and local officials on a wide range of health and social service issues. In her new role with Beacon Health Options, she is tasked with managing health plan and public sector business in New England, and will work closely with legislators and other key stakeholders to strengthen the company's partnerships throughout the region.

Previously, she served as the Chief Health Counsel in the Office of the Speaker for the Massachusetts House of Representatives, where she helped develop, enact and implement Massachusetts' health care reform law. Ms. Hager also served as an adjunct lecturer on health policy at the Harvard School of Public Health, where her expertise focused on state regulation of health care and public health, health care access, and the legislative process. Additionally, Ms. Hager was Deputy Director of the Division of Public Health Practice at the Harvard School of Public Health.
