Beacon Health Options Sponsors NAMI Convention's Welcome Center and Reminds Attendees: 'Hope Knows a Place Here'
Leading Behavioral Health Company Underwrites Welcome Center for 17 Consecutive Years
BOSTON, June 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Beacon Health Options announced today its 17th annual sponsorship of the Welcome Center at the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) National Convention. The focus of the 2018 convention is "Live. Learn. Share hope." To support the convention's theme, the national leader in behavioral health management designed its Welcome Center and booth (#301) around the theme, "Hope Knows a Place Here."
The Welcome Center serves as the hub for the convention's more than 2,000 attendees to obtain a wide range of assistance—from taking a moment's rest from fast-paced convention activities, to receiving help with mental health issues such as anxiety or lost or forgotten medication. Clinical staff, including a psychiatrist, are available 24 hours a day to support individuals throughout the convention. Most of the individuals who staff the Welcome Center are certified peer specialists or people with lived experience.

Beacon's support of NAMI does not stop at the convention door. Its offices and employees around the nation sponsor and walk in their local NAMIWalks, which raise funds for the nonprofit's support and education services and advocacy efforts. Last year, support from Beacon and its employees totaled nearly $135,000.
