BetterCloud Recognized In Gartner's Market Guide For SaaS Management Platforms

The report outlines the challenges organizations face in managing SaaS applications, and attributes of Representative Vendors providing offerings in the market, to give further insight into the market itself.

This year's edition has been renamed "Market Guide for SaaS Management Platforms" in direct recognition of SaaS Management Platform as a category. In the report, Gartner analysts Manjunath Bhat and Chris Silva, expand the problem and market scope to address the challenges for IT and security teams in SaaS Enabled Workplaces. According to the authors, "Organizations often encounter challenges in managing SaaS digital workplace applications such as Microsoft Office 365 and Google G Suite. Analysts Bhat and Silva assert, "SMPs allow IT administrators to manage application policies, take corrective action, track application usage and automate IT administrative tasks." They add, "Use an SMP to implement the necessary governance and administration to enable end-user adoption of SaaS functionality."

The authors conclude that SMPs are a "New Category of End-User Administration Tools - SMPs are focused on managing the SaaS component of a user's digital workplace."
