Bidders purchase dozens of properties in Carolinas in two days of John Dixon & Associates auctions
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., April 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Two days of auctions of bank-owned properties – one in Greensboro on Tuesday and the second in Myrtle Beach on Wednesday – resulted in dozens of properties sold for approximately $3 million. John Dixon & Associates conducted both auctions.
"This real estate – all owned by a bank – included some really nice properties, especially in the group sold on Wednesday in Myrtle Beach. Combined, these drew a strong field of 165 registered bidders, including those who attended live and those who participated via live simulcast," said John Dixon, president of the auction company.
The offerings included a wide variety of commercial and residential properties across North and South Carolina, said Dixon. "We had a great response for some nice properties, including restaurants, a residential condominium on the Intracoastal Waterway, a riverfront home, and a multi-unit office condominium and a number of others," he added.
Dixon said that while all the properties in the Greensboro and Myrtle Beach events were offered by a single seller, bidders can expect more future events to feature multiple sellers during 2015.
"We're known for our success in selling bank-owned properties, especially during the last few years, but now the banks have fewer properties to sell. At the same time, a lot of individuals, as well investors of all sizes, have properties they need to sell. So while we're continuing to take care of the banks, we're also putting a lot of focus on our Multi-Seller auctions. We'll soon be announcing a series of these in Georgia and Florida, and I think folks will be excited with the quality and variety of the offerings we'll have," said Dixon.
