WASHINGTON, March 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Association partner Big Red M has acquired ABWA Management, LLC, the management company overseeing the American Business Women's Association (ABWA). This transition positions Big Red M to support and strengthen ABWA's operations, enhance its member experience, and drive its long-term sustainability.
As part of this transition, Elizabeth H. Johnson, CAE, has been named the new Executive Director of ABWA. Johnson brings over 20 years of association management expertise, specializing in membership growth, strategic development, and organizational leadership.
"ABWA Management's decision to work with Big Red M represents a pivotal moment for ABWA's future," said M. René Street, outgoing Executive Director of ABWA. "We were looking for a team that aligned with ABWA's core priorities—growing the Association and furthering its mission of supporting America's businesswomen. Big Red M stood out as the best fit to help ensure ABWA's continued success and impact."
Johnson echoed this sentiment, highlighting the exciting opportunities ahead: "ABWA is a powerful force for women in business, and I am honored to lead the organization into this next phase. With the support of Big Red M, we will expand ABWA's reach, enhance its programs, and strengthen our community to create even greater opportunities for our members."
For over 75 years, ABWA has provided leadership, networking, and professional development opportunities to women across industries. The partnership with Big Red M will introduce new initiatives, enhance chapter development, and expand the reach of the organization nation-wide.
ABWA Members meet within their chapters monthly, and the next national event will be this November, at the Women's National Leadership Conference in Portland, Maine, November 12 – 15.
