FRESNO, Calif., Sept. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Big3D.com (All Things Lenticular, Inc.) has created the most amazing lenticular mural ever: 100-feet wide, ten-feet tall, with ten frames of extremely complicated animation across the entire mural. Lenticular excellence!
Cosmetics giant Sephora commissioned the amazing lenticular mural Transforming Beauty as a temporary facade to the construction site at their newest store in New York City. They hired award-winning artist David Ellis (#1 artist to watch in 2011 according to the Huffington Post) to create the large-scale animated artwork.
Big3D.com created 25 lenticular panels measuring exactly 48 x 120 inches each. Ten-foot tall panels were preferred to avoid a horizontal seam/splice at the typical eight-foot height. Lots of very busy animation crossed over every panel, requiring absolute perfection in phasing the lenticular panels to all work together.
Big3D.com fabricated custom cast-composite lenses at initial sizes of 50x128 inches to provide perfectly straight lens panels for this demanding project.
Installers from AmGraph provided detailed measurements so Big3D.com could router cut for the workers' access door, hinges, door handles, and water sprinkler access. Photos available at http://www.Big3D.com show the perfect end result of this teamwork.
The mural is currently installed and viewable at the newest Sephora store in New York's hottest new neighborhood, the Meatpacking District, at 9th Ave. and 13th Street until the store opening on September 16th.
