Bill Koehler Named President of KeyBank's Great Lakes Region
19-year banking veteran to lead region that includes Ohio, Michigan and Indiana
CLEVELAND, May 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Bill Koehler has been named president of KeyBank's Great Lakes Region, which includes Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. In this position he will lead seven district teams that are focused on delivering Key's products and services to retail, business banking, commercial banking and private banking clients in the region.
Koehler previously led KeyCorp's Keyvolution project, a corporate-wide initiative focused on improving the company's efficiency and effectiveness. He also served as KeyBank's Michigan district president. In that role, he was responsible for growing Key's franchise within Southeastern Michigan.

Koehler gained corporate finance and leadership experience in previous roles within KeyBanc Capital Markets, where he served as a managing director and segment leader of the Financial Sponsors Group and Regional Banking. He has led banking teams serving middle market companies interested in accessing Key's commercial banking, advisory, and capital markets capabilities. He has also led a number of M & A and financing transactions for financial sponsors and middle market clients of KeyBanc Capital Markets.
He was previously employed at McDonald Investments, which KeyCorp acquired in 1998. Prior to that, he worked in J. P. Morgan & Company's corporate finance department. He has a B.A. in Economics from Harvard and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Key's Great Lakes Region includes 341 branches throughout Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Youngstown, Mansfield, Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, Toledo, Ann Arbor, Detroit, South Bend, Elkhart, Kokomo and Indianapolis.
