Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience Available Now

LAS VEGAS, July 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Blackboard Inc., the world's leading education technology company, today announced that the 'Ultra' experience is available now for Blackboard Learn, the company's flagship learning management system (LMS). The announcement was made at BbWorld 2016, Blackboard's education conference focused on helping institutions meet the needs of learners, taking place July 12-14 in Las Vegas.

The Ultra experience, which is deployed via software as a service (SaaS) initially for customers in the United States, brings important benefits to instructors and students, such as a more intuitive user interface. It also includes streamlined workflows, a personalized user experience that brings aggregated and actionable information to a user's view, and a mobile-first design. Based on user data, the product offers the functionality most instructors need to manage their courses today and will be updated through a continuous delivery model.

The company also announced enhancements to the Blackboard Learn Original experience (known as Blackboard Learn 9.1 for managed and self-hosted customers), which is a mission-critical platform for a vast number of institutions around the world. These enhancements include a new theme based on the design principals of Blackboard Learn Ultra, bringing a new look and feel as well as mobile responsiveness to key areas of the Original experience of Blackboard Learn.
