Blackstone Insurance Solutions CEO Christopher Blunt Inducted into The American College of Financial Services Alumni Hall of Fame
Blunt to be honored in recognition of his professionalism, commitment to the industry and to the mission of The College
BRYN MAWR, Pa., Oct. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The American College of Financial Services announced today that it will induct Senior Managing Director and CEO of Blackstone Insurance Solutions Christopher Blunt, CLU®, ChFC®, CAP®, into its Alumni Hall of Fame on October 26, 2018. Blunt will be honored at The College's Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony which will take place at the annual President's Dinner in New York City.
Blunt will be inducted in recognition of his extraordinary professionalism, commitment to the industry and to the mission of The American College. A longtime advocate of The American College, Blunt served on its Board of Trustees from 2009 to 2015. He was instrumental in the establishment of the institution's PhD in Financial and Retirement Planning program, securing more than $5 million in funding to support it. Additionally, Blunt established the John Wallace Blunt Endowed Military Scholarship Fund in support of The American College Penn Mutual Center for Veterans Affairs. In honor of his father, Captain John Wallace Blunt, who served in the Army Air Corps in WWII, the scholarship supports veterans, active-duty servicemen or their spouses who are seeking an education from The College.

Before joining Blackstone, Blunt worked at New York Life as President of their $500 billion Investments Group. Prior to that role, he was Co-President of the Insurance and Agency Group of New York Life. Blunt was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Giving Capital, Inc., a wealth management solutions provider serving the financial institutions marketplace. He spent 14 years in a variety of senior marketing and distribution roles in the investment management industry.
Active in his community, Blunt is a board member for the YMCA of Greater New York and is currently the Chairman of the Board. Blunt serves on the Dean's Advisory Committee for the College of Literature Science and the Arts at The University of Michigan.
Blunt has provided exemplary leadership to The American College, to the industry and to the community. For these reasons, Blunt is a worthy 2018 inductee of The American College's Alumni Hall of Fame.
