blinkx Expands Leadership Team, Adds Technology Veteran Gerry Louw as Senior Vice President, Engineering and Operations

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- blinkx, the Internet Media platform powered by CORE, today announced the appointment of Gerry Louw as Senior Vice President, Engineering and Operations. In his new role, Louw will be working closely with the business, product and technology teams across the company and will play an integral role in further strengthening blinkx's technology leadership.

Louw brings over 15 years of experience in technical leadership roles to blinkx. In previous roles he has driven enterprise-level change and innovation of state-of-the-art technology across a wide spectrum of industries. Prior to joining blinkx, Louw served as CIO with Video Monitoring Services (VMS), a major media intelligence solution provider, where he led the company's enterprise technology strategy. There, he was instrumental in designing and deploying the largest video capture network in the world and developing a pioneering SaaS platform for media monitoring. Earlier, Louw served as CTO at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where he collaborated with the marketing and business development teams to spearhead the company's new product line and deployed a record-breaking online pay-per-view venue for sports entertainment. Louw also served as CTO at Agency.com, a global consulting service, where he built the technology consulting services division from the ground up and oversaw the successful technology integration of several mergers.

Louw holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Accounting from the University of Stellenbosch in Cape Town, South Africa.
