Blockchain FinTech firm, Pundi X, hires senior banking executive as its new Chief Investment Officer

SINGAPORE, Sept. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Pundi X's executive ranks are growing from strength to strength by adding 30 years of high finance experience with its latest hire.

After a distinguished 30 year career in some of the world's most prestigious financial institutions, Vic Tham has joined Pundi X as Chief Investment Officer. Vic's mandate will be to drive investments and manage a fund for developing Pundi X's new blockchain project f(x), which is targeted for the next generation of open-source blockchain ecosystem.

Vic joins Pundi X from Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he was the Chief Operating Officer, Asia Pacific, for Global Transactions Services. Vic brings to Pundi X deep banking, securities, and exchange expertise in risk management and compliance, experiences derived from his previous senior roles from some of the most recognizable and respected firms in international finance.

His former senior roles included the Managing Director of Operational Risk at Standard Chartered Bank; and SVP & Head of Group Risk Management at the Hong Kong Exchange & Clearing.

Vic is also currently the Advisory Board member of the Hong Kong University, Department of Statistics, BSc (Statistics, Risk Management & Decision Analytics) Programme. He is a thought leader in risk control, and a popular speaker who had spoken at hundreds of conferences in Risk, Compliance and Blockchain held in major markets like Hong Kong, Singapore, mainland China and Thailand.

In his career, Mr Tham has been involved with several deals including one of the most significant ones in the Asian financial history-as part of the Morgan Stanley Asia's deal team which represented the Hong Kong Futures Exchange in a multi-billion merger, to become what is known as the Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing today.
