Bloomberg Launches Comprehensive CLO Reference Data Solution, Connecting Insights Across the Investment Lifecycle

Integrated enterprise offering brings together normalized CLO and loan-level reference data with regulatory, liquidity and credit risk datasets, aligned with desktop workflows on the Bloomberg Terminal

NEW YORK, Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Bloomberg today announced the launch of its Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLO) Data solution, delivering comprehensive, high-quality and normalized reference datasets for CLO market participants. Available for use across the enterprise through Bloomberg Data License, the solution includes loan-level data that gives clients access to insights on every loan held within a CLO portfolio, and can be seamlessly combined with Bloomberg's regulatory, risk, and sustainability data, and pricing and analytics for deeper analysis.

The new solution aligns with CLO data available on the Bloomberg Terminal via functions such as LLD<GO> and CPR<GO>, supporting consistent workflows across enterprise and desktop environments. It is also accessible via Bloomberg Query Language (BQL), and Bloomberg plans to make this structured reference and loan-level data available in ASKB, the Bloomberg Terminal's new conversational AI interface, enabling customers to screen CLO collateral, compare key collateral characteristics, and conduct cross-deal analysis. Over time, ASKB is also expected to incorporate insights from offering documents, allowing users to evaluate key deal terms alongside the underlying collateral.

Bloomberg's CLO Data solution provides CLO coverage with detailed structure and underlying loan-level collateral data across global markets. Customers can access security master data as well as other key information such as identifiers, payment information and deal structures, and advanced data points including coverage tests and tranche level performance indicators. The data supports workflows including deal and tranche discovery, cross-deal analysis, cash-flow modeling, risk assessment, performance analysis, security master maintenance and lifecycle tracking.

While the CLO market has grown significantly in size, complexity and global reach, the supporting data infrastructure has not consistently kept pace. Information remains fragmented across offering documents, trustee reports, dealer runs and other proprietary systems, making it challenging for market participants to maintain a consistent, timely view of the market.

By normalizing reported holdings and mapping Financial Instrument Global Identifiers (FIGIs), Bloomberg enables customers to move efficiently from the CLO tranche and deal level to the underlying loan exposure and associated corporate entity, making the data easier to link, analyze and scale across workflows.

Bloomberg's CLO Data solution integrates with Bloomberg's broader Enterprise Data offerings in a unified data model, allowing clients to combine CLO and loan level information with complementary liquidity, regulatory and credit risk data. The solution is supported by Bloomberg's global team of analysts, who source information directly from involved market participants and company filings such as prospectus and trustee reports. Bloomberg's quality control framework is designed to support the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of these datasets, with key metrics validated for consistency across cash flows and descriptive data and outlier detection algorithms used to help identify potential anomalies.
