BluFi Lending Employees Pack Nearly 20,000 Meals in One Hour for San Diego County Seniors

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Employees for BluFi Lending, a direct lender for home loans, completed their last charitable activity of 2012 by volunteering at The Angel's Depot in Vista. Forty-five BluFi staff members gathered to pack boxes of food for San Diego County seniors living in poverty. BluFi also donated $5,000 to help purchase food and supplies needed by The Angel's Depot.

BluFi employees packed 952 boxes of food in one hour, marking the third year in a row that the company has broken the record for number of boxes packed in one night. With 21 meals per box, employees packed nearly 20,000 meals for seniors.

For its efforts, BluFi was honored at The Angel's Depot 2012 benefit gala to celebrate one million pounds of food packed since the organization opened in 2006. BluFi Lending received the Best Food Box Packing award in appreciation for the company's outstanding volunteer efforts and donations.
