NEW YORK, June 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Boies, Schiller & Flexner congratulates Lee Wolosky on his appointment as Special Envoy for Guantanamo Closure at the United States Department of State. Mr. Wolosky serves as a litigation partner in the Firm's New York office. The administration of President Barack Obama announced the appointment today.
"Lee has made his career at Boies, Schiller & Flexner solving difficult, at times seemingly intractable, international problems using a combination of diplomatic skills, strategic thinking, and razor-sharp legal intellect. Lee will bring all of those talents to his new position, a perfect appointment for him and the country, and a spot from which Lee can serve our nation and President well," said Boies, Schiller & Flexner Chairman David Boies.
Mr. Wolosky's recent matters have included serving as lead counsel in the Firm's terrorist-financing litigation against Bank of China Limited; lead counsel in a precedent-setting civil matter that was dismissed following the assertion of the state secrets privilege by the U.S. Government; co-lead counsel to certain of the 9/11 families in connection with a multi-billion dollar federal court judgment entered against Iran; and lead counsel to a major international corporation in matters arising out of an alleged assault by former IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn.
