Bolthouse Farms Celebrates National Salad Month by Encouraging Americans to Reject Mayonnaise

BAKERSFIELD, Calif., May 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As we near the end of National Salad Month, the month-long celebration of all things salad, California-based health & wellness company Bolthouse Farms is issuing a call to action to America's salad-loving citizens: go slow on the mayo this summer.

While the Association for Dressings & Sauces (this organization actually exists) did not officially recognize National Salad Month until 1992, Bolthouse Farms has been quietly honoring salads for generations. Bolthouse Farms also created a line of dressings with olive oil, which are rich in Omega 3. The company's vinaigrette flavors are Asian Ginger Vinaigrette, Chunky Blue Cheese Vinaigrette, Classic Balsamic Vinaigrette, Raspberry Merlot Vinaigrette and Tropical Mango Vinaigrette. These flavors have up to 95% less fat and 50% fewer calories than the next-closest competitor.
