Book Shows Humans Have Potential to Access Their Higher Selves

PLATTEVILLE, Wis., Jan. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- EVELYN M. DUESBURY, founder of yourguidingdreams.com announced her 2016 Routledge book contains a meditation model that teaches users how to still their thoughts and listen to become aware of their still state. From the still state the meditator has potential to become conscious of his or her higher self within, a potential in all human beings. This meditation model can be useful for counselors, therapists, and for the general public.

To become conscious of the higher self within, the individual must first still the thoughts and listen for insights beyond logical reasoning, beyond words and conscious thoughts. Several dreams in the book show how to still the thoughts and listen to become aware of the still state, the prerequisites to become conscious of the higher self potential within. In one dream, a person says the mind has to stay at a lower level. [The teacher in the dream] explains if one's mind is to stay at a lower level, it is not Higher Self consciousness because the Higher Self is not conscious to the human mind at that level; and the person understands.

Two meditation model stages precede the stage that shows users how to become aware of their still state. Those two stages are common in other meditation models. The first stage guides the meditator to quiet the whole body, not only parts of the body. The second stage guides the meditator to slow the breaths; breaths can be even or uneven.

Though the dream-guided meditation model was revealed in a nighttime dream, meditators can use the model without learning how to interpret their dreams. They can, if they wish, learn the Personalized Method For Interpreting Dreams (PMID), the method used for the dreams in this 2016 book. Duesbury developed the PMID model during thesis research and published it at the turn of the twenty-first century. Since then she uses the PMID model in each book she writes.
