Boston Broker Named Greater Boston REALTOR® Of The Year

BOSTON, July 3, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On June 18, the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS® (GBAR) named Michael DiMella, managing partner at Charlesgate Realty Group in Boston, as the 2013 Greater Boston REALTOR® of the Year at the association's Annual Awards Brunch at The Museum of Science. DiMella has been a REALTOR® since 2004. He is the President-Elect of GBAR and serves on the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) Board of Directors, as well as several other GBAR, MAR, and National Association of REALTORS® committees.

The REALTOR® of the Year Award was first presented locally in 1957, and it honors members for their volunteerism and industry work over the past 18 months in three specific areas: participation and service to the REALTOR® organization on the local, state and national levels; community involvement, including volunteerism in community service projects and membership and support of civic and charitable organizations; and outstanding business and real estate industry accomplishments.

In 2012, DiMella served as the Chairman of the GBREB Finance Committee and as a member of the GBAR Rental Services PAG, and is a past GBAR Treasurer and former chairman of the GBAR Communications Committee.

On the state level, Mike serves on the Government Affairs Committee and Conventions Presidential Advisory Group. A 2006 graduate of the MAR Leadership Academy, he served on the MAR Member Benefits and Young Professionals Network Committees in 2012.

Mike has been incredibly involved on the national level as well, most recently serving on the Leadership Academy Advisory Group for the past two years and the NAR Meeting and Conference Committee since 2008, and was the 2011 Chairman. He was previously honored as a member of REALTOR® Magazine's "30 Under 30" Class of 2008.

Mike has earned his Certified Buyer Representative (CBR) designation and Loss Mitigation Certification (LMC). When he is not busy with real estate, Michael volunteers at the Boys and Girls Club of Boston and served as the Event Committee Chairman from 2011-2012.
