Boston Children's Hospital Announces Historic Gift Led by Owners of the Boston Celtics Organization

Donation Will Support Multiple Transformational Priorities in Pediatric Care and Research

BOSTON, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Boston Children's Hospital today announced a historic gift of more than $200 million from the Boston Celtics ownership group and the Boston Celtics, in association with the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation. 

The gift will have a sweeping impact, supporting multiple transformational priorities across Boston Children's Hospital:

• Building the nation's premier pediatric mental health facility and foster earlier interventions for kids in crisis.
• Fueling research into emerging therapies for childhood diseases and to uncover the origins of adult diseases. 
• Supporting advanced training for pediatric nurses.
• Creating an innovation fund to support daring concepts that can transform children's health. 
• Expanding family-centered programs that foster healthy lifestyles in our communities.

The Boston Celtics will continue celebrating Boston Children's Hospital tomorrow night at their home game, with in-game moments throughout the evening recognizing current and former patients, families, staff and others with ties to the hospital.
