Boston Market Survey Reveals How Families Celebrate Mom on Mother's Day
Study finds mothers are working harder than ever in- and outside the home; 60 percent of Americans plan to "tweet" mom on her special day

GOLDEN, Colo., May 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Boston Market®, the rotisserie cooking and contemporary home style meal experts, today released consumer insights from a nationwide Mother's Day survey* that unveils just how families celebrate mom on their special day.
According to 49 percent of America, Mother's Day leads the pack as the favorite holiday during the spring and summer seasons. When it comes to treating that special lady in their lives, 78 percent of the country plans to give mom a gift this May 14, while 60 percent of us will rely on social media to wish mom a "Happy Mother's Day."
Moms with children (16 or younger) are working harder than ever to carry the brunt of chores around the house – and only 16 percent are planning to treat themselves this Mother's Day. Compared to their spouses, moms are still investing more hours per week cooking (8.8 vs. 6), doing laundry (5.9 vs. 4) and cleaning (8.2 vs. 4.8), making them all the more deserving to be showered with love – and a meal – on Sunday, May 14.
