Both Medved locations are Toys For Tots drop-off points

CASTLE ROCK, Colo., Nov. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- One of the major tenets of the Medved Autoplex business philosophy is to take care of the community that supports them. Medved has a long history of community service. In the past the Denver-area has given customers test drives to raise money for a local high school through a program sponsored by Ford Motor Company. With the holidays coming closer and closer, Medved Autoplex is volunteering for yet another worthwhile charity. This time the dealership is working with Toys for Tots and the United States Marine Corps Reserve to collect toys for children that might otherwise not have much to look forward to this holiday season.

From now until Dec. 14, Toys for Tots will have collection bins at both Medved locations in Wheat Ridge, CO and Castle Rock, CO. Toys for Tots does not publish lists with specific requested items. People who are considering donating a new toy to the Medved Autoplex collection bins, can donate just about anything they wish. For ideas what to donate, the Toys for Tots FAQ page suggests using existing gift giving ideas. If someone has a small niece or nephew that they will be already, they are encouraged to pick up a second gift for a less fortunate child.

The Medved Wheat Ridge location can be found at 11001 West I-70 Frontage Road North, Wheat Ridge, Colo., 80033. Medved Castle Rock is the other Toys for Tots drop off location, which can be found out 1404 South Wilcox Street, Castle Rock, Colo., 80104. Anyone with questions about drop off procedures should call 720-310-1381 for the Wheat Ridge store and 720-310-1378 for the Castle Rock location.

Toys for Tots was started by Marine Major Bill Hendricks in 1947. The first year, Maj. Hendricks collected 5,000 toys; starting with a single handmade doll that was donated by Diane Hendricks. Over the years Toys for Tots have collected and distributed millions upon millions of new toys through collection drives partnering the Marine Corps and private businesses and individuals.
