BougeRV Launches New Portable Diesel Outdoor Heater for Faster, Safer Cold-Weather Camping

New heater delivers 8-minute big-tent warming, 1-minute tool-free setup, multi-layer safety protections, and up to 3 nights of runtime.

HOUSTON, Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- BougeRV, a leader in off-grid and outdoor living solutions, today announced the launch of its new 5kW Portable Diesel Outdoor Heater, designed to deliver faster, safer, and more convenient warmth for extreme-cold camping and off-grid travel.

The heater uses diesel fuel to generate heat while electricity powers ignition, airflow, and controls. Its combustion and heated-air pathways operate separately, venting exhaust outside while delivering clean, dry warm air into the shelter. Featuring a rugged metal exterior and a heavy-duty design, the heater is built for the demands of overlanding and camping. Its IPX4-rated control panel adds extra protection for outdoor use in changing weather conditions.

"For years, winter campers and overlanders had to choose between cheap, finicky DIY heaters that felt unsafe, or prohibitively expensive built-in systems," said Jason Zheng, General Manager of BougeRV. "We designed this all-in-one diesel heater to eliminate that compromise—delivering instant 5kW heat with true plug-and-play simplicity, whisper-quiet operation, and absolute peace of mind in sub-zero conditions."

8-Minute Rapid Heat with Multi-Layer Safety

The Portable Diesel Outdoor Heater delivers 5kW of heating power, bringing a 3–4 person tent from 32°F to 68°F in about 8 minutes. Its separated exhaust system directs combustion gases outside while delivering clean, dry heat into the shelter. Multi-layer built-in safety protections, including automatic overheat shutoff, short-circuit protection, reverse-connection protection, and over-voltage protection, provide added peace of mind during outdoor use.

Tool-Free 1-Minute Setup with Anti-Spill Fuel Design

The all-in-one structure integrates the fuel tank, heating unit, and core components into a single compact body, reducing exposed connections and simplifying transportation and setup. The seamless fuel tank, automotive-grade fuel cap, and exclusive threaded cap are designed to help prevent fuel spills and minimize diesel odor during transport and use.

Whisper-Quiet Warmth for 3 Nights, Even at 9,842 Ft

A silent fuel pump and high-efficiency muffler help minimize operating noise, making the heater suitable for nighttime and overnight use. With fuel consumption of approximately 0.18–0.53 liters per hour, its 5L tank provides around 9 to 27 hours of runtime, depending on heat level and operating conditions. Automatic altitude adjustment up to 9,842 feet further helps maintain stable operation in higher-elevation camping environments.

Powered by the BougeRV Ecosystem: Energy, Portability, and Smart Control

Flexible off-grid power. For longer trips away from traditional power sources, the heater pairs with BougeRV portable power stations and solar charging products. A compatible 266Wh battery can support up to approximately 14 hours of electrical operation under suitable conditions, providing greater flexibility for extended outdoor stays. Diesel supplies the heat, while electricity powers the ignition, fan, and controls.

Quick, tool-free setup and easy transport. BougeRV simplifies outdoor setup with a tool-free snap-and-lock connection that can be completed in about one minute, with no loose parts or tools required. The glove-friendly design makes installation easier in cold conditions, while an optional carrying bag offers convenient transport and storage. A separately available rain cover provides additional protection in changing outdoor weather.

Convenient remote control. Through the BougeRV app, users can control the heater from up to 33 feet away, making it easy to preheat a tent or adjust heating settings without leaving the shelter in cold weather.

The new BougeRV 5kW Portable Diesel Outdoor Heater has an MSRP of $289.99, with special limited-time launch discounts available on both BougeRV.com and Amazon (promotional pricing may vary by platform).
