Bourn Companies and Valencia Hotel Group Tap Hospitality Industry Veterans for Leadership Posts at Tempo by Hilton Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Bourn Companies and Valencia Hotel Group today announced the hiring of two local veterans of the hospitality industry for leadership roles at the Tempo by Hilton Tucson. Darren Haley will assume the position of general manager, and Janet McClanahan will serve as director of sales and marketing. Expected to open in January 2027, the 144-room property is currently under construction in the Uptown district in the former Foothills Mall site in Northwest Tucson. Uptown developer Bourn Companies is managing the site buildout, and Valencia Hotel Group will assume overall management functions for Tempo by Hilton Tucson when it opens in January.

Darren Haley brings more than 15 years of hospitality experience across numerous brands in Tucson and Hawaii, including Hilton, IHG, and Four Seasons. He most recently served as general manager at DoubleTree by Hilton Tucson – Reid Park, following a stint as general manager at Tucson's Homewood Suites St. Philip's Plaza.

Janet McClanahan, a Tucson native, has more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry in various positions in Southern Arizona, including Hilton, Marriott, Choice Hotels, independent resorts, and full-service convention properties. She most recently served as area director of sales and marketing at Focus Hospitality which operates Tucson's Hampton Inn & Suites, and TownePlace Suites.
