WASHINGTON, June 5, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Bread for the World announces its lineup of notable speakers for the 2014 National Gathering June 9-10, 2014, in Washington, D.C. Under the theme "Bread Rising: Working Together to End Hunger by 2030," speakers will join activists, members, and supporters in celebrating the organization's 40th anniversary and mapping out steps to end hunger in the next 15 years.


Event speakers, including John Podesta, special adviser to President Obama; Dana Hyde, the new CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC); Dr. Manuel Pastor, professor of sociology and American studies and ethnicity at the University of Southern California; Rick Steves, public television personality, travel expert, and longtime Bread activist; Gaby Pacheco, DREAMer and immigration-rights leader; Desmond Meade, returning citizen and PICO state director for Florida; Rev. Each June, Bread for the World's gathering attracts an impressive roster of speakers, teaching participants about key issues impacting hungry people.
