BRG Expands Economics and Damages Practice with Addition of Leading Energy Expert Kenny Grant

NEW YORK, April 16, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Global consulting firm Berkeley Research Group (BRG) announced today that Kenny Grant has joined the firm as a managing director based in Boston. He is an energy economist who provides advisory services, privileged consulting and expert witness testimony for energy clients in the oil and gas and electric power sectors. He specializes in matters concerning competition, antitrust, regulatory and marketing design, and valuation.

Grant has provided written and oral testimony before international tribunals and US authorities. He has submitted testimony on behalf of major oil and natural gas companies related to the value of hydrocarbons; refining, processing and transportation assets; and damages stemming from contractual disputes. He has managed efforts in complex energy-related matters, including mergers and acquisitions, regulatory proceedings and multi-client disputes. His recent work has focused on the public policy and market implications of the increasing integration of renewables into the domestic energy supply portfolio, the impact of regulatory actions on wholesale electricity and natural gas prices, and the assessment of the market value of energy and power-related assets.

Previously, Grant was an economist with the Overseas Private Investment Corporation in Washington, DC. Working in the Investment Development division, he conducted market analyses and researched capital requirements and economic effects of proposed projects. As an instructor for the Harvard Institute for International Development, he taught cost-benefit analysis, project analysis and microeconomics to officials from utilities, regulatory agencies and economic development banks in the developing world.

Grant received an MPP from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a BA in economics from Middlebury College.
