NEW YORK, April 16, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Global consulting firm Berkeley Research Group (BRG) announced today that Kenny Grant has joined the firm as a managing director based in Boston. He is an energy economist who provides advisory services, privileged consulting and expert witness testimony for energy clients in the oil and gas and electric power sectors. He specializes in matters concerning competition, antitrust, regulatory and marketing design, and valuation.
"We are very pleased to have Kenny join BRG," said Chris Goncalves, a BRG Managing Director and Chair of the firm's Energy practice. "He adds substantial policy, regulatory and economic expertise to the firm's extensive advisory capabilities in relation to energy market fundamentals, strategy and transactions."
"We are delighted to welcome Kenny to BRG," said Santiago Dellepiane, a BRG Managing Director and Co-Chair of its Economics & Damages practice. "He brings significant energy expertise, expanding BRG's already strong acumen across the energy value chain in both advisory and disputes matters."
Grant has provided written and oral testimony before international tribunals and US authorities. He has submitted testimony on behalf of major oil and natural gas companies related to the value of hydrocarbons; refining, processing and transportation assets; and damages stemming from contractual disputes. He has managed efforts in complex energy-related matters, including mergers and acquisitions, regulatory proceedings and multi-client disputes. His recent work has focused on the public policy and market implications of the increasing integration of renewables into the domestic energy supply portfolio, the impact of regulatory actions on wholesale electricity and natural gas prices, and the assessment of the market value of energy and power-related assets.
"I'm excited to join BRG and leverage the firm's deep network of disputes and investigations experts to address our clients' challenges," said Grant.
Previously, Grant was an economist with the Overseas Private Investment Corporation in Washington, DC. Working in the Investment Development division, he conducted market analyses and researched capital requirements and economic effects of proposed projects. As an instructor for the Harvard Institute for International Development, he taught cost-benefit analysis, project analysis and microeconomics to officials from utilities, regulatory agencies and economic development banks in the developing world.
Grant received an MPP from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a BA in economics from Middlebury College.
