CHAPEL HILL, N.C., April 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Briar Chapel, a new home community in Chapel Hill, NC, announced today that one of its homebuilders, Saussy Burbank, reached its landmark 125th home closing in the community. Consistent with a recent 15% increase in homes sales in the Triangle, Saussy Burbank has sold 16 homes YTD, a success it attributes to new product features and increased buyer confidence.

Saussy Burbank homes at Briar Chapel include features that have seen strong interest from potential homebuyers, including finished-in-place hardwood floors, custom wood shelving, high ceilings and 8' doors, subway tile, and outdoor rooms and courtyards. Also adding to the pace of home sales are the region's historically low inventory home levels; accordingly, Saussy Burbank currently has 20 inventory homes underway at Briar Chapel.

"We're proud to have our environmentally friendly, well-constructed homes be a part of the thriving community Briar Chapel has become," said Joe Robinson, VP / General Manager – Raleigh Division, Saussy Burbank. "We're gratified by this sales success, and we look forward to continuing to grow with Briar Chapel."

"We are thrilled for Saussy Burbank on their achievement at Briar Chapel," said Keith Hurand, Senior Vice President at Newland Communities. "Briar Chapel has a lot to offer – from our ideal location in Chapel Hill to our innovative, quality homes – and I have no doubt we will continue to see strong interest as we head into an even busier selling season. Briar Chapel is set to meet the needs of buyers with 40+ move-in ready homes during a time of short home supply throughout the Triangle."

Briar Chapel is owned in a joint venture between NORTH AMERICA SEKISUI HOUSE, LLC (NASH), the US business unit and full subsidiary of SEKISUI HOUSE, Ltd, Japan's largest homebuilder and leading diversified developer, and Newland Real Estate Group, LLC, whose development business, Newland Communities, is the master developer of the community.
