Briar Chapel Supports Local Schools With "Music in May"

CHAPEL HILL, N.C., May 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Briar Chapel, a new home community in Chapel Hill, NC, this weekend will host student music groups from the community's two local schools for performances and a celebration of the musical arts. The second annual "Music in May" will raise awareness of Chatham County Schools well-known music programs.

Music in May will take place Saturday, May 11 from 1 – 4:30 p.m. in Briar Commons Park, and will feature performances by bands and choruses from Northwood High School and Woods Charter School. According to U.S. News and World Report, Northwood is ranked the 6^th best high school in North Carolina, with Woods Charter – which is located on-site at Briar Chapel – rated among the best charter schools in the U.S. Ice cream refreshments from local favorite Tar Heel Creamery will help make the day even sweeter.
