Briggs Auto Touts Inventory of IIHS Award Winners

The 2013 Dodge Avenger and the 2013 Chrysler 200 have garnered top honors by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety in 2012.  The Chrysler Group has a long history with automobile safety and the 2013 Avenger and 2013 Chrysler 200 lead the way in a group of 10 other Chrysler Group models that have been praised by the IIHS.

The Avenger and Chrysler 200 are leading from the front because each model took home awards in a new IIHS category "Top Safety Pick+" which features a new set of testing criteria that goes above and beyond the previous criteria. To take home this honor, each model was subjected to a crash test that exposed 25 percent of each front-end to a 40-mile per hour collision. Since both models fall into the mid-size sedan industry segment both the 2013 Dodge Avenger and 2013 Chrysler 200 have advanced multi-stage front-passenger airbags, front-seat side airbags, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, supplemental side-curtain airbags and the LATCH child-seat anchor system.

The 2013 Dodge Avenger has also been named the "Most affordable mid-size sedan" in the United States. The 2013 Chrysler 200 has received nods in the areas of outstanding value for entry-level model pricing, highly competitive Environmental Protection Agency ratings for fuel-economy and best-in-class performance for a mid-size sedan.

Rounding out the rest of the Chrysler Group's IIHS award winners for the 2013 model year that are available for sale by Briggs Auto Group are: The all-new Dodge Dart in the Small Car Category; the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger in the Large Family Car category; the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan in the Minivan category.
