Die einzigartigen Kleidungsstücke, die eine Mischung aus nachhaltigem Design und aufwendiger Handarbeit darstellen, wurden von BOTTLETOP in London entworfen. Die Designs wurden gemeinsam mit örtlichen Kunsthandwerkern aus London, Salvador, Sao Paulo und Rio De Janeiro erstellt.

Tausende durch Upcycling neu verwertete Metallstücke, die vor allem im Bundesstaat Bahia im Nordosten von Brasilien gesammelt wurden, wurden per Hand bemalt und Tausende von durch Upcycling neu verwertete Swarovski-Kristalle aus Europa wurden über einen Zeitraum von sechs Monaten per Hand angebracht.

Die Entwürfe wurden mit dem brasilianischen Supermodel VS Engel und dem BOTTLETOP-Markenbotschafter Lais Ribeiro von Grayson Hoffman in New York fotografiert.

Die brasilianische Sängerin Ludmilla tritt in einem der spektakulärsten Momente der Eröffnungsfeier in einem weißen, hautengen Couture-Catsuit von BOTTLETOP auf und eine Schar von 30 "Feuerschwert"-Tänzern tragen Ganzkörper-Metallanzüge von BOTTLETOP, die von historischen Motocross-Schutzpanzern inspiriert wurden.  

Zur Feier der interkulturellen Zusammenarbeit werden die Designs einen Tag lang - am Dienstag, dem 16. August - zusammen mit der Herbst-Winter-Kollektion 2016 bei einer von hochkarätigen Gästen besuchten BOTTLETOP-Auftaktveranstaltung in Rio gezeigt.

Die Feier wird in der historischen Bhering-Schokoladenfabrik in Rio stattfinden und Live-Auftritte von führenden brasilianischen und europäischen Künstlern mit einer beeindruckenden audiovisuellen Darstellung präsentieren.

ÜBER BOTTLETOP   

BOTTLETOP begann im Jahr 2002 durch eine Design-Zusammenarbeit mit dem britischen Luxusmodehaus Mulberry. Im Mittelpunkt der Zusammenarbeit stand eine sich sehr gut verkaufende Handtasche, die aus durch Upcycling wiederverwerteten Kronkorken in Afrika hergestellt und in Europa mit Mulberry-Lederresten gesäumt worden war.

BOTTLETOP hat ein Atelier in Salvador, Brasilien, eingerichtet, wo das Unternehmen spezielle Produktionstechniken und Signatur-Materialien aus nachhaltigen Quellen entwickelt hat, für die durch Upcycling wiederverwertetes Metall und zertifiziertes Leder aus dem Amazonasgebiet, zu dessen Herstellung keine Bäume abholzt wurden, verwendet werden.

BOTTLETOP hat 2014 Design-Kooperationen mit Narciso Rodriguez und 2015 mit DKNY ins Leben gerufen und erhielt die Markenkennzeichnung Green Carpet Challenge (GCC) von Livia Firth.
