BritWeek Miami Returns With a New Format and a Host of New Partners February 16 - 19, 2017

MIAMI, Feb. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- BritWeek Miami is delighted to announce a new approach to its successful annual celebration of British business and culture in South Florida. This year will comprise two long weekends of special events and presentations, running Feb 16-19 and Mar 9-12 in Miami, and May 4-7 in Atlanta.

The 5th Annual BritWeek Miami will again be held in collaboration with the British Consulate-General Miami and the GREAT Campaign, and top sponsors Bentley Motors, The Welsh Government, Elemis, EAST and AFEX. BritWeek Miami is also thrilled to be working with an exciting array of partners to help deliver a totally unique platform of business and cultural events designed to celebrate and build the thriving relationship between the UK and Florida.

A Great British Weekend in February opens with a highly anticipated diplomatic and corporate C-level round table discussion about the implementation and challenges of international trade following Brexit and the end of TTIP. HM Consul-General Dave Prodger and Damien Levie, Head of Trade from the EU to the USA will lead this riveting conversation at The Beacon Council, thanks to BritWeek partners, the FIU Jean Monnet EU Center for Excellence.

BritWeek guests are also invited to continue the conversation at the FIU Jean Monnet EU Center of Excellence International Two-Day Trade Conference, February 16 – 17, with tickets still available to the public.

BritWeek is honored to be part of Piano Slam, the life-changing modern poetry competition and performance highlighting literature, music, science and technology, through their superb partnership with Miami Dade Public County Schools. BritWeek, with the support of The British Council, brings British Trinidadian dub-poet and musician Roger Robinson from London to collaborate with the students prior to and then on stage for the 9th spectacular Piano Slam performance at the Adrienne Arsht Center, February 16 at 7:30 pm, with tickets available to the public.

On Saturday, February 18th, BritWeek guests can join our partners Contexto, who with the support of the Knight Foundation and the AIGA are hosting the Miami Service Jam, a creative, fun, hands-on design workshop at New World Symphony on Miami Beach. SAM's mission is to educate to help eradicate child slavery. 35 street artists from all over the world will unite to create monumental paintings during 10 days of events.
