LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW (CES) -- Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of wired and wireless networking, network storage and direct attached storage solutions, today announced a refresh on the highly popular LinkStation(TM) Duo, representing the latest generation of Buffalo's LinkStation family of NAS products. The new LinkStation Duo is based on industry-leading storage technologies, containing data management features that make it the ideal NAS solution for the home or small business user.

"Home users and small businesses sharing digital content always find managing and protecting their data a challenging task," said Ralph Spagnola, vice president of sales at Buffalo Technology. "With the new LinkStation Duo, both home and small business users can conveniently and safely share data, photo, video, and music files from a central location while scheduled backups automatically protect those assets."

Available in 1TB, 2TB and 3TB capacities, the new LinkStation Duo features enhanced performance speeds of up to 40MB/s, twice the speed of its Pro Duo predecessor, and it can be configured in RAID 0 for capacity or RAID 1 for redundant storage. With quick swap hard drives, users can easily remove and replace either drive without any tools. In addition, scheduled backups to an external USB storage device, or any other Buffalo NAS device, provides an exact copy of your data for an extra level of data protection or disaster recovery preparation.

The new Buffalo LinkStation Duo is DLNA CERTIFIED (TM), allowing it to stream content to any DLNA compatible media device, including PlayStation 3 and Buffalo's LinkTheater products. Plus, LinkStation Duo acts as an iTunes® server, seamlessly integrating with and allowing the iTunes software access to music files stored on the server. The LinkStation Duo also supports Apple Time Machine® for easy backup and Apple Bonjour®, making it well suited for Mac environments. And for on-the-go, Buffalo's Web Access feature makes it a cinch to store, share and access files from any web browser via a PC, Mac or iPhone®.
