Burns & McDonnell Awarded Contract for New MU Research Facility
Firm Selected to Provide Architectural, Master Planning and Engineering Design Services
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- As the University of Missouri System plans to build the Translational Precision Medicine Complex (TPMC), it has awarded Burns & McDonnell the contract for architectural, master planning and engineering design services for the $220,800,000 research facility.
"The TPMC complex will build upon MU's existing strengths to open unparalleled opportunities to transcend traditional learning, bringing world-class minds together to create the next generation of biomedical solutions," says Elizabeth Loboa, MU's vice chancellor for strategic partnerships. "The most promising ideas will advance from concept through pilot-scale manufacturing — from benchtop to bedside, all from inside the TPMC."
Located along Hospital Drive in Columbia, Missouri, the TPMC will aim to bring together industry partners; engineering, medicine and veterinary science students; and the federal government to pursue a collaborative approach to personalized healthcare, supported by the advanced technology.

Construction for the 275,000-square-foot facility is expected to be completed in October 2021.
