The Firm's Growth in the Sunshine State Creates New Jobs for the Region

MAITLAND, Fla., May 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Burns & McDonnell is poised for expansion in Florida with the opening of its first major office in the Orlando area. The move will create new jobs for the area with plans to triple the size of the office within the next year.

Maitland Mayor Dale McDonald and Seminole County Commissioner Bob Dallari joined Oko Buckle and his fellow employee-owners from award-winning AEC firm, Burns & McDonnell, to celebrate the opening of the firm's newest regional office in Greater Orlando.

AEC firm Burns & McDonnell's award-winning and globally-recognized transmission and distribution team launched its latest regional office in Florida. Following their traditional ribbon cutting, the team officially "plugged in" to its clients throughout the state.

In addition to a strong focus on electrical transmission and distribution, Burns & McDonnell Orlando will quickly grow into a multi-discipline office providing a full-suite of services from power generation, transportation and water to environmental, aviation and federal.

With more than 35 offices in the United States and across the globe, Orlando will be Burns & McDonnell's newest office located at 495 N. Keller Road, Suite 155, in Maitland. Architectural, engineering, procurement and construction services to Gainesville Regional Utilities for an energy center for the Shands Healthcare Cancer Hospital Campus.
Design and construction services for the Joint Intelligence Center, Central Command to provide highly specialized space for classified intelligence data at MacDill Air Force Base.
Design and build services for the Joint Strike Fighter Integrated Training Center at Eglin Air Force Base.
Ecosystem restoration effort with The Everglades Construction Project to improve the quality of surface water runoff to historic conditions. This project was awarded the ACEC Grand Conceptor Award.
