Burns & McDonnell Reveals Members of Contractor Team For New Single-Terminal KCI Project

KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Several prominent members of Kansas City's contractor community are joining with Burns & McDonnell as part of an all-star team of contractors united to build a new single-terminal KCI. The team will submit a joint proposal to the Kansas City Council on July 27 as part of the City's Request for Qualifications and Proposals (RFQ/P) process for design and construction of a new terminal. The City is expected to select a winning team by Aug. 10.

The Kansas City Council has committed to a public vote on the terminal plan and contractor team that is selected. A recent poll of Kansas City, Missouri residents showed only lukewarm support until learning the details of a privately-financed single-terminal concept that would also be built with Kansas City firms and Kansas City labor. Support jumped from 38 percent to 55 percent when survey respondents learned that the airport project would be privately financed with no risk to taxpayers and be built with a local firm or firms.
