C. Frank Smith Named Chief Operating Officer Platinum Control Technologies

FORT WORTH, Texas, Sept. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Mr. C. Frank Smith has joined Fort Worth, TX-based Platinum Control Technologies as Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Smith joins the company from Valerus, where he served as Vice President of Production Equipment until June 2011.  His responsibilities included managing all engineering, drafting, proposals, project management, and the direction of the strategic inventory of production equipment.  In 2011 his business segment was reorganized as a profit and loss center with an estimated 100 million budget.

From 1992 to 2009, Mr. Smith was employed by Natco Group, Inc. and its predecessor, National Tank Company (Houston, TX) in progressively responsible positions.  During Mr. Smith's tenure, his division's revenues increased from $25 million to over $350 million.  Natco went public in 2000 after being in business since the 1920s.  In 2003, Mr. Smith was promoted to Executive Vice President, reporting to the president.  In this position, he had responsibilities for all operations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Venezuela.  In 2008, Mr. Smith's last two acquisitions for the company were Linco, a measurement firm, and Connor Sales, a tank fabrication company.  

Prior to joining Natco Group, Mr. Smith was employed with BJ Services, Inc., where he served as Regional Sales Manager for the Mid-Continent area.
