Empowering Future Generations Through Innovation and Technology
BLOOMINGTON, Minn., Sept. 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- C1, a global leader in technology solutions that elevate connected human experiences, proudly celebrates its five-year commitment to supporting the Moreno Valley Unified School District (MVUSD) esports program. This sustained partnership underscores C1's dedication to fostering innovation, collaboration, and growth within the education and esports community.
Since its inception, the MVUSD Esports program has grown into a nationally recognized initiative, engaging students across 36 schools within the district. Spearheaded by MVUSD's visionary leadership and backed by C1's expertise, the program provides equitable access to state-of-the-art Alienware gaming desktops to support competitive and educational esports activities districtwide.
"What sets C1 apart is their unparalleled ability to align with MVUSD's commitment to inclusivity, collaboration, and excellence," said Joshua Combs, IT Analyst III at MVUSD. "From equitably deploying equipment to sponsoring initiatives like the All Girls League, C1 has been an indispensable partner, helping elevate our esports program while providing career-building opportunities for our students."
C1's support extends beyond infrastructure, playing an instrumental role in advancing MVUSD's mission of leveraging esports to increase student engagement and success. The program has achieved remarkable results, including a 33.5% lower absence rate among participants, a 44% reduction in suspension rates, and a significant GPA increase (from 2.43 to 2.70) compared to the district average. Additionally, the esports initiative has re-engaged students post-pandemic, with 60.2% of participants joining extracurricular activities for the first time.
"Our esports program is more than just gaming," said Peter Whitmore, Esports Coordinator, Moreno Valley Unified School District and Scholastic Esports Mentor. "It's about building critical skills like teamwork, strategic thinking, and leadership while preparing students for future opportunities in the rapidly evolving digital landscape."
C1's contributions to the program include serving as the primary hardware distributor for MVUSD Esports, collaborating with district leaders to design tailored solutions, addressing logistical challenges during deployment, and providing ongoing support. Additionally, over the past decade, C1 has partnered with MVUSD to deliver innovative infrastructure and security solutions. Highlights include the installation of cyber-recovery solution, and a refresh of MVUSD's wired and wireless infrastructure. These upgrades enabled Wi-Fi 6 capabilities, enhanced performance, and bolstered security through Aruba solutions. Impressively, all installations were completed without downtime, ensuring uninterrupted, reliable connectivity for the entire school community. In addition, C1 serves as the primary computer distributor for MVUSD.
"At C1, we believe in the power of technology to not only transform businesses but also to shape lives," said Zeina Ammar, C1 Senior Vice President of Public Education. "MVUSD's forward-thinking approach to bridging equity gaps, championing inclusivity, and fostering student development through esports is inspiring.
