Calling All Floridians: Join The Petition To Make The Flip Flop The Official Shoe Of Florida

DESTIN, Fla., May 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The flip flop has long been the unofficial footwear for the Sunshine State. And, with more beaches than any other state nationwide, it's time for Florida to stand up and stake its claim by petitioning Governor Scott to make the flip flop the official shoe for the state.

National Flip Flop Day
In 2008, Tropical Smoothie Cafe joined fundraising efforts with its national charity partner Camp Sunshine, which established a retreat in Casco, Maine approximately 28 years ago for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families from around the nation. Tropical Smoothie Cafe created the holiday, National Flip Flop Day, on the third Friday of each June to raise awareness of Camp Sunshine.
