U.S. Silica Holdings, Inc. Research Reports
On September 9, 2014, U.S. Silica Holdings, Inc. (U.S. Silica) announced that it intends to add approx. 3.8 million tons of new capacity in order to meet the soaring demand for northern white frac sand with two new oil and gas capacity expansions. U.S. Silica is planning to increase its capacity at its Pacific, Missouri plant by 800,000 tons-per-year. According to the Company, the planned expansion of the Pacific plant is attributed to increased use of fine grade products by the oil and gas market. Further, the $33 million project also includes a new flagship transload to support the additional volume. The Company expects this project to come online in Q3 2015. The Company stated that the expansion also includes development of new sand mine and plant in Wisconsin and associated in-basin transloads with a capacity of 3 million ton-per-year frac. The project has a capital expenditure requirement of approximately $150 million. The new facility will be located on a highly-desirable Class 1 railroad and is expected to come online by the middle of 2016. MarketWatch reported that on September 23, 2014, Genesis Energy LP (Genesis Energy) announced the pricing of a registered underwritten public offering of 4 million common units representing limited partner interests at $50.71 per common unit. As per MarketWatch, the underwriters have been granted a 30-day option to purchase up to 600,000 additional common units from Genesis Energy. Genesis Energy plans to use the net proceeds from the offering for general partnership purposes, including funding acquisitions (including organic growth projects) or repaying a portion of the borrowings outstanding under its revolving credit facility. The offering is expected to close on September 26, 2014. Following the news of the offer pricing, Genesis Energy's stock closed the trading session at $50.75, down 4.38%.
