CAPE PAC's Grassroots Efforts Help GOTV in West Victory, Donalds to Run in Future
WASHINGTON, Aug. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Coalition of Americans for Political Equality PAC (CAPE PAC) congratulated U.S. Congressman Allen West for his decisive victory in last night's Republican primary in Florida. West won by a 3-to-1 margin, defeating Martin County Sheriff Bob Crowder with 74 percent of the vote.
"We'd like to congratulate Congressman West for a tremendous victory last night. We are also very pleased by his margin of victory, which indicates broad support and enthusiasm as he heads into the fall campaign," CAPE PAC Chairman Jeff Loyd said. "We look forward to offering continued strong support for his candidacy in the general election." West will face Democrat Environmental Services Executive Patrick Murphy in the November 6, 2012 general election.
CAPE PAC also endorsed political grassroots leader Byron Donalds, who did not prevail in Florida's 19th Congressional District Republican Primary against former Southwest Florida television and radio personality, Trey Radel, and four other candidates.
"Byron Donalds was in a tough race, but we were pleased to have supported his candidacy and appreciate his voice on behalf of the people of Florida – and America," said Loyd.
CAPE PAC endorsed both candidates through efforts that included local TV advertisements, voice broadcasts, social media, search placements, and targeted videos. "We feel our efforts were worthwhile, not only for aiding in West's victory but in continuing the conservative cause. Little by little, we are steering the United States in the right direction," said Loyd.
