CBIZ Wealth Management Joins Mariner Wealth Advisors

LEAWOOD, Kan., Jan. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Mariner Wealth Advisors, the wealth management firm recognized by Barron's as one of the best independent investment advisors in the United States in 2010, is expanding its wealth advisor team through the acquisition of the individual wealth management firm formerly associated with CBIZ Inc., known as CBIZ Wealth Management.

The group joining Mariner from CBIZ Wealth Management includes 24 individual wealth management consultants and professionals located in Cumberland (MD), Denver, Kansas City, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, and San Diego. They joined Mariner effective January 1st, increasing the number of Mariner wealth advisors significantly and the total number of professionals in the broader Mariner family to 270. Terms of the transaction were not announced, but each of the CBIZ individual wealth management group's offices is expected to remain open and be rebranded under the Mariner name within a year.
