CCS Student Automotive Design Work on Display during North American International Auto Show (NAIAS)

DETROIT, Jan. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- During the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), College for Creative Studies (CCS), the leading art and design College in the world, will showcase student designs at their main floor booth at NAIAS and at the A. Alfred Taubman Center for Design Education during the Transportation Design Student Exhibition event. Reporters will have two distinct opportunities to see student work while NAIAS is in town. The Transportation Design Student Exhibition kicks off at 9:00 a.m. on Sun., Jan. 8 (Reception at 4:00 p.m.) and continues through Thurs., Jan. 12 and the Meet the Student Designer Event will be conducted on  Mon., Jan. 9 from 1:15 until 3:00 p.m. during NAIAS Press Days at the CCS Booth.

Annually, through sponsored research projects with automotive and automotive supplier companies, CCS students develop designs that represent the future of automotive design and innovation.  With an emphasis on market, lifestyle, age and social demographics, students are charged to develop designs that translate into various types of automobiles.

The Transportation Design Student Exhibition kicks off at 9:00 a.m. on Sun., Jan. 8 and continues through Thurs., Jan. 12 at CCS's A. Alfred Taubman Center for Design Education. There will be a reception at 4:00 p.m. on the 11th floor of the Taubman Center. Featured are remarks from CCS President Richard L. Rogers as well as remarks from Vice President Global Design Ed Welburn and CCS Alumna and Director of General Motors North American Passenger Car Design Crystal Windham just prior to the Cadillac ATS Unveiling Event. Reporters also have an opportunity to meet with student designers from CCS on Mon., Jan. 9 from 1:15 until 3:00 p.m. during NAIAS Press Days at the CCS Booth. Featured Student Designers include: Alexander Blake McGowen (Lincoln Model), Brian Malczewski (Lincoln Model), Stephen Rapaski (Meritor Heavy Duty Truck Model), Kirill Ponomarenko (Honda Model), Taylor Langhals (Jeep Model) and Austin Fodell (Meritor Heavy Duty Truck Model).
