CD&R Foundation Announces Grants to Five Non-Profit Organizations in New York City

NEW YORK, June 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- CD&R (or the "Firm") today announced that the CD&R Foundation (the "Foundation") has made grants totaling $5 million to five non-profit organizations in New York City, which will be dispersed over the next four years. These organizations, identified as CD&R's Talent Solution Partners ("TSPs"), will support the Foundation's work to promote economic access and opportunity in the communities we aim to serve.

Since its inception in 2021, the Foundation has committed approximately $40 million to 37 organizations in CD&R's local communities of New York City, London, and the broader U.S. and U.K. The latest round of grants is awarded to the Ali Forney Center, BASTA, Commonpoint Queens, Emma's Torch and Hot Bread Kitchen, and brings CD&R's current New York TSP representation to 10 impactful non-profit organizations.

The TSPs were selected in partnership with CD&R's New York Foundation Grants & Service Council, which consists of CD&R partners and employees. This 16-member council is a key component of the Foundation's governance, with responsibility for reviewing applications, interviewing non-profit executive leadership and ultimately recommending a slate of TSPs with associated grant quantum for the Foundation Board of Director's approval.

• The Ali Forney Center protects LGBTQ+ and at-risk youth from the harms of homelessness and equips them with tools for independent living. As the nation's largest agency dedicated to LGBTQ+ and at-risk homeless youth, AFC serves over 2,000 young people annually through a 24-hour Drop-In Center, on-site medical and mental health care, scattered-site housing, and workforce programming that helps youth build skills and access employment pathways.
• BASTA's mission is to close the employment gap for first-generation students and change the face of workforce leadership.
• Commonpoint Queens' mission is to sustain and enhance the quality of individual, family, and community life for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Central to this mission is a commitment to advancing long-term economic stability through robust workforce programming that provides job training, career pathways, and wraparound supports for New York's most vulnerable populations.
• Emma's Torch empowers refugees, asylees and survivors of human trafficking through culinary education and workforce development.
• Hot Bread Kitchen utilizes New York City's food industry to create economic opportunity for individuals who face barriers to meaningful careers.
