
Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors to Honor John Law and Michael Rouse at 2013 Annual Gala
Award-winning Singer-Pianist Michael Feinstein Set To Perform
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors hosts its 2013 Annual Gala on Nov 5th at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. This year's honorees are John C. Law, co-managing director of Warland Investments and Michael Rouse, vice-president of Diversity, Philanthropy and Community Affairs for Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc.
Michael Feinstein, the multi-platinum-selling, award-winning singer-pianist and Broadway star who is nicknamed the Ambassador of the Great American Songbook, will perform.
For the ninth consecutive year, Lexus has joined forces with the Board of Governors as title sponsor, and will donate a 2014 Lexus LS 460 F SPORT luxury sedan to be raffled off at the Gala. Only 500 raffle tickets will be sold.
John C. Law is co-managing director of Warland Investments Company, a real estate investment and development firm that manages more than 3.5 million square feet of high quality commercial space. Law has a long history of service to Cedars-Sinai as a member of the Board of Directors from 1997 -2013, sitting on the Executive Committee, chairing both the Building Committee and Nominating Committee, and serving as Chairman from 2004 - 2007.
Michael Rouse directs Toyota's Corporate Diversity and Inclusion, Philanthropy and Community Relations programs. He also oversees the Toyota Vehicle Museum and the Toyota Video Production Center. Rouse's philanthropic responsibilities include Toyota's national programs for education, the environment and safety. He serves on the boards of trustees of the California Science Center Foundation, Stop Cancer, Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Executive Leadership Team of the American Heart Association, among others.
Proceeds from the Gala will benefit the Board of Governors Heart Stem Cell Center at the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute. In a clinical trial led by Eduardo Marban, MD, PhD, director of the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute, and Raj Makkar, MD, associate director of the Heart Institute and the Stephen R. Corday, MD, Chair in Interventional Cardiology, heart attack patients regenerated new, healthy heart muscle after receiving infusions of cardiac stem cells.
