Beginning in November 2016, Cengage provided teachers of English with access to National Geographic Learning's ELTeach, an online, integrated professional development, assessment and certificate program.

The English for Teaching program is aimed at improving the level of English for the classroom and focuses on online speaking and listening. The program was met with extremely high satisfaction levels from participants with 96.1% of teachers indicating they would recommend the course to a colleague.
The Professional Knowledge for ELT program focused on classroom methodology and lesson planning. 98% of teachers noted they would recommend the course to others. Upon completion of the course, teachers had the opportunity to take either the Test of English-for-Teaching (TEFT™) or the Test of Professional Knowledge (TPK™) assessments, developed by US-based Educational Testing Service (ETS).
