What: The Census Bureau will hold a webinar prior to the Dec. 14 release of the first set of 5-year (2005-2009) American Community Survey (ACS) estimates. The webinar is designed both for members of the media who are new to the ACS as well as those who have experience reporting on ACS estimates.
Reporters will learn the background and history of the ACS as the replacement for the once-a-decade census long form, how the new multiyear estimates are developed, and how to use the estimates.
The webinar will consist of a simultaneous audio conference and online presentation. Reporters will be able to ask questions during the audio conference once the presentation is complete.
The Census Bureau will also conduct a Web news conference simultaneous to the release of the estimates (Dec. 14, 9 a.m. EST). Access information will be released prior to the event.
