Centerplate Racks Up National Awards For Stadium Excellence, Exceptional Food, Environmental Responsibility
STAMFORD, Conn., Feb. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Centerplate, America's leading event hospitality partner to the country's top stadiums, entertainment venues and convention centers, is proud to announce a series of prestigious national awards for its stadium hospitality and partner venues. This national recognition further cements Centerplate's standing as the national leader in world-class event hospitality.
Centerplate partners with the Indianapolis Colts and Lucas Oil Stadium and has been named the "Best Stadium Experience" by Stadium Journey Magazine. Making the honor even more noteworthy, this is the second year in a row that Lucas Oil Stadium has won top honors in "Best Stadium Experience".
Centerplate's success was equally as impressive among its partner college stadiums. Centerplate partner, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, were ranked number one for College Stadiums, and Centerplate partner, the University of Alabama, was ranked number two. The national rankings take into account the food & beverage at the stadium, overall atmosphere, the surrounding neighborhood, the fans, access outside and inside the stadium, return on investment, and allows room for "bonus points" for unique features.
Additionally, The Daily Meal, a leading digital food publication, has also honored Centerplate after a lengthy national review of stadium food and beverage. The Daily Meal selected a Centerplate venue, the Mercedes Benz Superdome as number two in the country for their feature: "15 Best Stadiums for Food," making it the number one NFL stadium. With dishes that span from alligator sausage and fresh Gulf shrimp to Cajun gumbo and Ponchatoula strawberries, Centerplate is proud to offer fans its Louisiana-inspired menu on game-day.
Centerplate's third national honor is also for AT&T Park, which recently won the Major League Baseball "Green Glove" award for an incredible fifth year in a row. The MLB Green Glove Award recognizes the MLB Club with the highest recycling rate, determined by the Sustainable Operations Committee of MLB Stadium Operations Directors. Along with the Green Glove Award, recognition is given to the top teams in each League and Centerplate is leading the way with the top spot in both Leagues with the San Francisco Giants and Seattle Mariners.
