CentralReach Launches ReportDraftAI to Cut the Manual Work Behind ABA Reports

New AI solution brings authorization, clinical and progress data into one review-ready draft, giving BCBAs more time to focus on clinical decision-making

By reducing the manual work of finding, transferring and assembling information, ReportDraftAI helps Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) spend more of their time on the clinical interpretation and decision-making only they can provide. 

A Growing "Burden of Proof" in Autism and IDD Care 

Providers in this field are no longer just expected to deliver quality care — they're expected to continuously prove it, through documentation and audits that keep pace with evolving regulations. That burden falls hardest on BCBAs: a 2025 study in Behavior Analysis in Practice found behavior analysts spend approximately 46% of their time on indirect, non-billable activities like reporting, data analysis and treatment plan development — nearly double the 25–30% that clinical guidelines recommend for that work. It's a leading driver of the burnout destabilizing the field, with 72% of ABA practitioners reporting medium-to-high burnout tied to documentation load.

Reauthorization reporting is a clear example of that burden. At least twice a year for every learner, BCBAs must bring together authorization information, clinical data, progress toward goals, assessments and other information to demonstrate medical necessity and ensure care can continue without disruption. Start to finish, the full process typically takes 9-12 hours, much of it in non-billable time. While clinical analysis and decision-making are essential BCBA work, finding information, transferring data and assembling the report are administrative tasks that consume valuable time. 

From Data Aggregation to Report Completion 

ReportDraftAI streamlines the reporting workflow from initial draft through review and sign-off, while keeping the BCBA in control of every clinical decision. The clinician selects the learner, report template and authorization or reporting period, and ReportDraftAI pulls available information already maintained in CentralReach into a structured, review-ready draft. Authorization, service, clinical, target-level and assessment information are brought together in one place, reducing the need to manually find, copy, and transfer data across the learner record. 

From there, the clinician reviews the content, applies clinical interpretation, documents medical necessity, and adds recommendations. Built-in comments and review workflows support collaboration and revisions with peers, while signature functionality for BCBAs, supervisors, and caregivers helps move the report toward completion. Once finalized the report can be published directly from CentralReach.
