PALO ALTO, Calif., April 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Jive Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: JIVE) today announced that Cerner Corp., a global leader in health care technology, has expanded its use of Jive's enterprise communication and collaboration solutions. Cerner's 93,000-member community, called "uCern," uses Jive-n to enable industry-wide collaboration that helps clinicians systemically strive to improve health care delivery. Cerner recently added Jive's Ideation Module to enhance its client request submission software.
Since 2009, Cerner's hybrid uCern community has driven knowledge sharing among hospitals, clinicians and medical device companies, as well as technology suppliers, consultants, researchers and industry experts. With the new Jive-powered uCern Ideas, Cerner clients now have a collaborative forum to provide feedback and influence changes in the solutions they use daily.
"uCern gives our clients, associates and suppliers an inspiring place to connect, communicate and collaborate as we work towards the mutual goal of changing the face of health care," said Jeremy Davis, director of client operations, Cerner. "We expanded our long-term relationship with Jive to include Jive Ideation and offer an interactive platform for increased feedback across all levels."
To date, Cerner has received more than 8,600 ideas and clients submit hundreds of new ideas each week. The company has implemented nearly 850 of these recommendations into its software or solution roadmap. Jive's Ideation Module helps companies like Cerner to crowd-source creative ideas through rich media sharing, commenting, voting, scoring, highlighting, browsing and filtering.
"Cerner's constant innovations help health care facilities manage mounting operations costs and increasingly complex data collection and sharing requirements," said Chris Masino, senior vice president of worldwide sales, Jive Software. "It's a pleasure to support Cerner's leadership in the health care industry by enabling the company to inspire massive collaboration across a variety of stakeholders. Cerner is one of many Jive customers to expand its use of our solutions over the years because the company sees the significant value of enterprise collaboration and communication."
Cerner also leverages Jive for internal collaboration with its nearly 21,000 associates. The company uses uCern to speed solution development and design, to facilitate employee on-boarding, and for client communications and announcements. Ninety-nine percent of Cerner associates are active uCern members, sharing nearly 80,000 documents, blogs, videos, discussions, bookmarks and other types of content each month.
Cerner's health information technologies connect people, information and systems at more than 18,000 facilities worldwide. Recognized for innovation, Cerner solutions assist clinicians in making care decisions and enable organizations to manage the health of populations. The company also offers an integrated clinical and financial system to help health care organizations manage revenue, as well as a wide range of services to support clients' clinical, financial and operational needs. Cerner's mission is to contribute to the improvement of health care delivery and the health of communities.
