Channel Leader Jim Dixon Joins IT Hall of Fame
Former CEO of CompuCom Systems Praised by Industry Colleagues for his Business, Leadership and Personal Skills
SAN ANTONIO, Texas, Aug. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Jim Dixon, the "Comeback King" of the information technology (IT) channel, has joined his many of his industry peers and contemporaries in the IT Hall of Fame.
Dixon, the former CEO, chairman and executive chair of CompuCom Systems Inc., accepted the honor alongside of his family and friends during IT Hall of Fame induction ceremony, held in conjunction with the XChange 2016 event here Tuesday night.

Dixon served as CEO of CompuCom from 1987 to 1996, growing the firm from $150 million to more than $1.5 billion. He rejoined CompuCom as CEO in 2004, transforming the public company into a private IT outsourcing powerhouse through a series of mergers and acquisitions. Dixon retired as CEO in May 2013 and served as chairman and then vice chairman until early 2015.
Throughout his career, Dixon made it a priority to focus on the "people side of the business" and kept customer satisfaction and company culture top priorities.

Founded in 1997 by CRN, the IT Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions or provided exceptional service to the IT channel, as well as those responsible for outstanding technology innovations or business transformations. The IT Hall of Fame has been administered by CompTIA since 2010.
